KFP Launches the 2010 Senior Rep Program!

Hey everyone. I'm kicking off my Senior Rep program for the class of 2010. Here's an overview of the program...

Who we are looking for:
Guys & girls graduating high school in 2010 (so this year's juniors) who are outgoing, fun and will be comfortable in front of the camera.

What they will get:
  • KFP Classic Senior session in the spring of their Junior Year (I'll be photographing reps in March & April) at no charge!
  • Slideshow of their session images
  • Select electronic files for Facebok/MySpace
  • Unlimited Rep referral wallets
  • Yearbook images (if not required to use a school's contract photographer for yearbook images)
  • 20% off a la carte print prices
  • Bonus incentives (cash, free prints, additional session, iPods) based on the number of friends they refer

Their part of the bargain:
After having a blast at their KFP session and getting unique images that really capture who they are, all they need to do is pass out their referral cards and talk up KFP to their friends.

Pretty simple, right? If you know someone who would make a great rep, have them contact me for more details and an application at karen@karenfishphotography.com.

Matilda Jane Update

Just a quick update on the Matilda Jane Clothing line highlighted below. I heard from a few people who were excited to hit the website to check out the clothes, only to find many of the pages blank. They are launching the Spring line March 1st, so they are in the process of switching out a lot of the items. I have been told the new line will be up on the site on Sunday. In the meantime, there are a few sneak peeks of the spring line on their blog.

Matilda Jane Clothing Show and Portrait Event

Some of you may remember we tried to do this event last summer, but these clothes are so popular, by the time our show came up, they were almost completely out of inventory, so we called the show off.  So, this year, we scheduled our show at the very beginning of the season to make sure that wouldn't happen again!

For those of you not familiar with Matilda Jane, it is a line of clothing (mostly children's, though they do have some great adult pieces as well!) that is really unique.  The clothes are fun and funky, with a sweet vintage flair.  Alex literally got an extra little bounce in her step every time she wore the adorable circle skirt she got last spring.

My friend Amy (her daughter, Kate, is pictured in her very own MJ above) & I will be hosting a trunk show at my home on March 9th from 10:00am-1:00pm.  (This information, including my address will be going out in my newsletter.  If you don't receive my newsletter, please e-mail me for the address.  I just feel a little funny putting it out there on the web for all the world!) Check out the line at Matilda Jane Clothing - if this style grabs you like it did me, come on by and pick out some goodies!

The fun, fresh style of this clothing line really matches the style of my photography so well!  So, I thought it would be a blast to tie in a portrait event.

With the purchase of an outfit at the trunk show, you will receive a pass for Matilda Jane Week at my studio.   Appointments will be scheduled April 27th through May 1st for complimentary mini-sessions for your little ones all decked out in their Matilda Jane!

Baby Loves Disco - January Gallery Available

Well, I was going to begin this blog entry by lamenting about my poor neglected blog - until I realized that was exactly how my last blog entry began...back in November! Anyway, I do apologize, and will try to show my blog more love in the future. (I blame Facebook - I've gotten kind of addicted to that site!)

In the meantime, we celebrated with another Baby Loves Disco weekend before last. As usual, it was a blast. January's party gave the kiddos a chance to ring in the new year...again! There is a sampling of the fun below, but check out the entire gallery to see more. Once you have logged in, use "bldjan" as your access code.

Baby Loves Disco - November Gallery Available

Wow! My poor blog has been neglected, hasn't it?!? Sorry about that! The holiday portrait rush has not allowed me to get over here and do updates as often as I would like, but things are beginning to settle down, so I'll be back to my regular updates soon.

In the meantime, I did want to post that the gallery for the November Baby Loves Disco party is online. The November event was a pajama party, so you'll see lots of little ones in their adorable PJs. Check out the gallery here, and use "bld4" as the access code.

Alex's First Haircut!

Well, I indulged in a little break from editing sessions to take a look at the pictures I shot today at Alex's first haircut. Bryan & I were both hesitant to cut her hair, because we love it long. But, the ends were so fine, it really needed a trim. We weren't sure how Alex would take to the whole idea, but she actually did wonderfully. She sat very still on Daddy's lap and was very cooperative!

The before...

The first snip...

She doesn't look so happy here, does she? The poor little guy in the chair next to her was screaming & crying - so I think she figured he must know something she didn't!
But the outing ended with a lollipop and a ride on the giant shoe. What more could a girl ask for? (In case you're wondering how the giant shoe fits in, the hair salon is actually in the back of the Stride Rite store! Odd, I know, but they were wonderful with the kiddos.) And speaking of shoes, notice the shiny red shoes on Alex. For the past three days, these are the only shoes she will let us put on her feet!
Hope you all enjoyed Alex's first haircut - now back to editing!

Handsome Twins

I just adore these little guys! I've been photographing them since they were 2, and I always have such a blast with them. Never fails...they always get to cracking up like this...makes me wonder what their dad is doing behind my head?????

Brandon's little personality is so much fun!

And Brady has the sweetest eyes!

I also got to try out my red wall during their session! In the office portion of my studio, one wall is painted red and it's right next to some windows that let in great light. So, I squeezed all my furnishings into one half of the office so I could leave the space near the light open for shooting. I really love how it turned out - especially fun for the holidays, but I think I'll enjoy it year-round.
Well boys, thanks again for another very entertaining session - I definitely got my dose of laughs!
